Hey, travel lovers! We've heard you loud and clear—so many of you wanted the full deets on our Bimini adventure via the Balearia Caribbean ferry. So, here’s the scoop on our spontaneous girls' trip, which turned out to be the best decision ever. And trust us, whether you're planning a family getaway, a romantic escape, or just a day out with friends, this is the ride you need!

Starting Point: Port Everglades—The Journey Begins

We kicked off our adventure at Port Everglades, where there's a paid parking lot. Remember to have cash or card ready for that. Once parked, we made our way to the terminal, brimming with excitement. Here's a hot tip: print your boarding pass! We learned this the hard way and had to make the walk of shame to customer service. Save yourself the hassle!

At the counter, passports are a must. No passport, no trip. We witnessed a poor girl turned away because she didn’t have hers—heartbreaking! After that, it was a waiting game in the terminal, complete with a vending machine and bathrooms for last-minute needs.

All Aboard! The Ferry Fun Begins

Boarding the ferry was like stepping onto a luxury boat-plane hybrid. The spaciousness, the comfy seating—it was all there! We were pleasantly surprised by the onboard amenities, including a full-on breakfast menu and full on food counter. We opted for seat-side service because what now? We started our morning off with a few drinks. Shoutout to our founder, Iya Thomas, who enjoyed a virgin piña colada at 9:30 AM. Life goals, right?

As we cruised into international waters, the duty-free shop opened its doors, offering everything from our beloved Tortuga rum cakes to cozy blankets—absolute lifesavers for the chilly return trip.

Booking Excursions Onboard

Feeling adventurous? The ferry has an excursion desk where you can book activities like golf carts for exploring Bimini. Payment is easy with cash or card, making the whole process seamless. Once we arrived, we discovered that there was a bit of walking involved, including steps. If mobility is a concern, let the staff know—they’re very accommodating.

Navigating Immigration: Play It Safe

Upon reaching Bimini, we had to go through immigration, where our bags were checked again. Remember, folks, this isn't a scene from "Locked Up Abroad"—be mindful of what you pack. After clearing customs, open-air shuttle buses are available to take you to the island's main areas. Feeling energetic? You can also walk and enjoy the scenery.

Bimini Adventures: Sun, Fun, and Everything in Between

The day in Bimini was nothing short of perfection. From breathtaking beaches to delicious local eats, we did it all. Want to know more about our escapades? Check out our additional blog posts below!

Back on Board: Blankets, Customs, and Final Farewells

As the sun set, we headed back to the ferry. Remember those blankets? They were lifesavers because, baby, it got cold! We cozied up and napped until we hit the mainland. Back on U.S. soil, we faced Customs and Immigration again—complete with dogs, so be smart about your souvenirs

Homeward Bound

After clearing customs, we walked to our car and headed home, hearts full from the best day ever. This spontaneous girls' trip was a total win, and we can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for a quick island getaway.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your girls, your family, or your special someone and set sail for an unforgettable day in Bimini. Check out our other blog posts below for all the island adventures we had!
