Shapely was founded in 2014 by Iya Thomas to provide a need. At the time plus size events were elusive. If you were looking for plus size friendly events you needed to visit many different resources thus, Shapely was created and since our inception we have been the superior online directory for plus size friendly events.
Since then, we have expanded into developing premium multimedia content and information relevant to the plus size community. As we scale our business in 2022 and on to 2023, we are looking for talented individuals who love plus size people, content and events to join our team.
Content Creators play a pivotal part in supporting Shapely with achieving its mission.
Job Description
We are searching for a driven, detail-oriented content creator to produce high-quality media outputs for our business. The content creator has the ability to update existing material, generate new works, and identify new ways to reach consumers. To be a successful content creator, you should focus on appealing to consumers’ interests by creating visually appealing and engaging material.
Content Creator responsibilities include but are not limited to producing marketing copy to advertise our products, writing blog posts about industry-related topics and promoting our content on social media. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with digital publishing and generating traffic and leads for new business. Please share samples of your work (portfolio or links to social media channels and published articles) along with your submission.
Ultimately, you will help Shapely reach its target audience by delivering both useful and appealing online information about our company and products.
Responsibilities
Research/have knowledge of industry-related topics
Prepare well-structured drafts using digital publishing platforms
Create and distribute marketing copy to advertise our company and products
Brainstorming marketing and product ideas to incentivize engagement and sales
Interview industry professionals and incorporate their views in blog posts
Edit and proofread written pieces before publication
Conduct keyword research and use SEO guidelines to optimize content
Promote content on social networks and monitor engagement (e.g. comments and shares)
Identify customers’ needs and recommend new topics
Posting on social media and relevant online communities
Interact with Shapely’s audience
Requirements
Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. Trello, Later, Canva)
Excellent writing and editing skills in English
Be able to self record and edit original works
Be familiar with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok
Efficient time-management skills
Familiarity with Marketing, English, Journalism or relevant field
This position has a 60 day probationary period and is up for review every six months. This position is partially remote and part-time. Events or obligations that require a physical presence will be discussed in advance.
