7 Ways to DIY your Galentine’s Day

Valentine’s day is right around the corner. With some of us single, myself included, we may be looking for alternative ways to celebrate. With the pandemic in full swing and many gathering places closed, many of us will be celebrating inside. Here are 7 ways to DIY your Galentiene’s Day.

Gather Your Tribe

Call up your good girlfriends. I mean your good, good girlfriends. Why? You want people you feel comfortable with to speak and share stories. This is not your typical game night crowd, this is your village.

Ease The Vibes

Let’s address the elephant in the room, the pandemic is still here. With that said, I recommend you invite the girls over but still take precautionary measures. With rapid testing now widely available, it may benefit you and your guests to get tested. In addition, it doesn’t hurt to do a temperature and symptom check however, please be aware that some people present as asymptomatic.

Pick A Theme

I’m always down for a onesie party. However, in honor of this particular holiday and being inside for so long you may want to class it up a bit. Maybe “Code Red” or “Glammed out Glitter” to add some class and sparkle to the much needed get together.

Pose For The Camera Now

Now a days, if you didn’t post it, it didn’t happen. With a multitude of design options available, it is super easy to create a cute little photo booth in any corner and/or wall of your home. Here are some of my home photo booth faves:

Wine photo booth props

Tinsel foil fringe backdrop (Purchase two)

Balloon garland (Assembly is easier than it looks.)

Ring light

Flower headbands

Pour It Up Pour It Up

A Mimosa bar is one of my go-to’s for a variety of gatherings. Why? It’s not something you have to babysit because guests prepare their own beverages. You also add variety and choice by presenting various fruit and beverage items. In addition to orange juice and champagne, I like to add flavored champagnes, a couple of sweet wines, and a few tropical beverage choices. Here’s my Mimosa Bar starter pack:

Plastic champagne glasses

Carafes with lid

Mimosa design kit

Rose gold cutlery

Food is a must! With people potentially drinking, let’s avoid hangry guests and provide them with something to eat. I tend to provide more of a buffet style spread while others opt for a pre fixe menu. If you have picky guests, you may want to shy ways from the pre fixe menu. A buffet style spread also allows for customizations. Pre fixe may be easier and/or cost effective. Decide what’s right for you.

Are You Not Entertained?

Some say “Idle minds are the devil’s playground.” I say “Idle minds make for a boring dinner party.” Let’s face it, sometimes we need a little help with getting the conversation started and the party jumping. Keep your guests engaged with these fun entertainment ideas and games:

Black Uno

TableTopics

Cards Against Humanity

Black Card Revoked

Headbandz Adulting
