How to Care for Dread Locks

I have been “loc’d” for two years now. January 2021 made my two-year anniversary! Since locking my hair I've only had them professionally done three times. Take a peek at how I care for my locs.

The first time I had my locs done, I had them instantly locked being that I already had a full head of natural hair. I selfishly skipped the natural locking process and had the beautician lock my hair which I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I subsequently had them interlocked twice. My first-time interlocking was to repair the bang-up job done by instantly locking my hair. I interlocked them again prior to my vacation. Pro Tip: If you don’t want to worry about your locks unraveling when they get wet, interlock them. So, there you have it! Two years with dreads and because I can do them myself, I only had them professionally done three times. I come from a family of people with dreads so doing my hair comes as second nature. I'm also very selective about what I spend my money on; hair just isn't one of them.

If you have any loc tips or products you think I should try feel free to drop them in the comments below.
