Digital Creator, Taeylor Marie showcases her sexy and comfortable style.
What inspires your style?
I would have to say that comfort has the biggest influence on what I wear. Comfort and sexiness are the two factors that I’m always looking for with any outfit. As far as inspiration, I would say that my personal [style] is becoming more and more eclectic. I like to try out different aesthetics and personalities when looking for new outfits. Right now, I am currently inspired by the early 2000’s earthy/bohemian look. That includes long skirts, crop tops, knit and crocheted materials, earth tones, flowy, and open outfits. I am currently shopping around for the perfect capsule wardrobe for this style, but I am very excited to try something new!
This month, Shapely is focused on how our readers can make the most of their summer. How do you plan to make the most of your summer?
I know most plus-size influencers would take this opportunity to encourage others to dress how they want to (I do encourage that). [However, I] wear whatever I want! Now that we’ve got the cliché answer out of the way, I plan to explore. I plan to explore myself, my city, new foods, drinks, and activities. Recently I have started engaging in activities by myself, and I have to say that I really enjoy my time alone. I think that the key to making the most of your summer starts with you. You do not have to wait for other people to co-sign your plans to make them. In addition, I would like to take at least one to two trips this summer and I may also rededicate myself to acquiring my master’s degree in psychology.
What can people learn from plus size influencers, like yourself?
I think the most important thing to learn from plus size influencers is that underneath the poses, perfectly styled outfits, makeup, and hair, we are still regular everyday people. We too, struggle with insecurities around our bodies and appearances. With that being said, I also hope to inspire people to clothe themselves in ways that make them feel comfortable. I want everyone to feel good about themselves at the end of the day, and to be unafraid to welcome change!
Give us three principles that you live by that have added to your success? It can be a quote or your own personal values.
Consistency, community, and adaptability are the three principles that I live by, and I think they have played a big part in my success. Being consistent means that you are showing up for yourself, and that you are willing to continue working towards your dreams.
I would say that [it] is extremely [important] to build a community and network with other people in your niche. They can inspire you, support, and uplift you when you need it the most. You are also able to give those same gems back to them!
Lastly, being adaptable is a great skill to have. If you’re unable to change, and alter your approach, success may be hard to find. Especially on social media where things change rapidly. [You must] be able to pivot and find new ways to do things in a way that still feels true to you. In short, things do not always go your way, but how you deal with them determines your ability to [succeed]!
