Six Shades of Quay
Quay Australia is one of my favorite brands because of affordability and craftsmanship. I was initially introduced to the brand by Lesly G. and still have my first pair to this day. On July 3, 2020 Quay had a buy one get one free sale. In the market for new shades but not wanting to spend a fortune amid the pandemic, I opened my laptop and let loose. I was so excited to receive them especially since I was heading to National Harbor Maryland for my birthday getaway. I already had the outfits paired with the sunglasses in my head.
I ordered six in total, four arrived on the 13th before I departed allowing me to take them with me. I departed during the early morning hours of the 16th and the other two arrived later that day. Being that we are amid a pandemic, I thought that was a fairly reasonable shipping speed.
Let me tell you… I slayed every look with these shades!
As a person of size, I try my best to add things to my wardrobe that make me feel confident and powerful. Most of the time we are going out into a world that is quite frankly not so polite to us. Slaying my summer looks especially poolside can sometimes seem daunting but adding these to my looks was a no-brainier.
To be fully transparent, I must add that the Flight Risk (model: BLKWHTTORT/SMK) pair arrived slightly damaged. It’s almost as if something was wrong with the coating. I e-mailed customer service not wanting a refund but wanting them to exchange for the same pair because for one, I loved the glasses and second; I purchased a necklace to match (pictured above). To my dismay they were sold out however the customer service representative allowed me to keep the glasses and still issued me a refund for that particular pair. I was elated as the imperfection is barely noticeable if noticed at all — you be the judge and let me know.

Most of these looks are no longer in stock, clearly I’m not the only one that took advantage of the buy one get one free sale. They do have a sample sale going on now that you may want to run and take advantage of.
