Romekia Brown is a Confidence Coach and she’s not here to Play!

Meet Romekia Brown a plus size influencer, confidence coach and CEO of Model University (MU). As Shapely explores ideas around wellness and self-care this month, we’re very much excited to feature Romekia as our Fatshionable Style Icon. As she continues to serve up self love, style and confidence to every ‘body’.
Romekia, describes her personal style as “being comfortable, classy and sexy.” Which is very much evident in her beautiful photos on Instagram where you can see her styling in bodycon dresses and bikinis. However, Romekia is not all about style but is even more passionate about teaching others how to develop their own confidence as a confidence coach. When I asked Romekia how she helps people of size with the common issue of confidence. She responds, “I help people by giving my authentic self, meaning this is me. I wear what I want and I’m comfortable in my own skin.” This is the positive energy we think inspires and motivates her followers and clients.

As Shapely focuses on wellness and self-care this July I asked Romekia how she manages her own self-care routine. In which she stated that it includes sessions of daily prayer and meditation, writing down goals, planning brunch dates with friends, booking massages and ManiPedis. In which, all of these activities helps Romekia stay grounded and in touch with her needs and her busy life.

Next month, Romekia is also proud to announce the launch of MU on Monday, August 16th. She describes MU as a, “brand inspired by… plus size men and women who wanted to learn how to become a model. MU will be a virtual online platform that educates, empowers and inspires [people of size] who desire to learn about the entertainment and modeling industry.” MU also offers consultation services under “Discover Me” which provides clients the opportunity to plan a career strategy, discover the right image, develop a portfolio and much more.
In summary, Romekia states that she lives by three principles: “Keep God first, be uncomfortable and remain coachable.” She also believes that one should stay ready so that you don’t have to get ready. Shapely also believes in readiness and being proactive; what about you?
