Back to… Normal?
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER
For some, it’s back to school season. For others that have been working from home, it’s back to the office. For those of us that missed traveling, it’s back outside which leads me to believe that we are somewhat getting back to... normal? As I see it, there is no getting back to normal, this is our new normal but let’s make the most of it! How you ask?
With the children going back to school, that leaves us with more time to get back to things us adults like to do. With many working from home, we may have lost our sexy and our dating chops. In this issue we have Kenyatta, a plus size pole dancer, helping us find our inner vixen. We also have Shapely contributor Justin, reminding us of some do’s and don’ts for the ultimate date night.
A little tight on funds? Adjusting to a new lifestyle? A lot of us are including myself. In this issue you will find lunchtime hacks for the whole family that will save you a pretty penny and allow you to follow your dietary restrictions all while being creative and organized. We have also included a fun way to display family accomplishments.
With outside open, so are our events. We’ve beta launched the Shapely Social Club which provides plus sizers with the opportunity to attend events they would normally attend, but with people that look and understand them. Tired of being the only person of size in the group? Join ours. With outings like apple picking, interactive museums, bowling and pool, we're putting the plus in your social life!
Lastly, although the COVID numbers are down, please keep your guard up and continue to take approved safety measures. As the number of variants increases, so should our awareness. Do you know what to do in the event of an emergency? If not check out our emergency preparedness article. Protect yourself, your family and enjoy this month’s issue of Shapely.
